First day in the toddler room

Penelope was in the toddler room untill 1 pm today. Chris forgot her boots but he thought "hey, it's snowing 5 inches today. They aren't going outside." Turns out if you want hard core Minnesotans you train 'em young. She had to go back to the baby room, while all the other toddlers went outside. They go outside whenever it is above 20 degrees. I wasn't quite sure how her boots would have helped since she doesn't walk on her own, but I guess a teacher holds the hands of the not quite walkers. Penelope is the only one right now. Smart girl...she gets a teacher all to herself. According to her teacher, she was really smiley and comfortable with all the kids. She loved lunch. In the baby room she has still been getting the baby food they make, plus food we bring. Well, today she got to eat with the toddlers. Oh, boy, do they eat well! Jardin Magico has a full kitchen with 2 staff that cook meals every day. Penelope's going to beat me on the veggie/fruit quota hands down. Today she had a cheese quesadilla with corn, peas, carrots, zucchini, red peppers, cauliflower, potatoes and broccoli with a side of peaches. Woowee! All of those in a quesadilla sounds a little strange, but she gobbled it up.
One of the best parts was when I went to her cubby and got her first "project." It's a bunch of pieces of tissue paper stuck onto a map of America del Norte. What can I say? She leans towards modern art. I can't wait until pick-up time tomorrow to see her second project...and her big smile and giggles the moment she sees me.

maybe Penelope can teach her cousin Dylan that eating a variety of foods is fun!

What a beautiful piece of art...make sure you store it safely...it could make lots of money when she's famous! :-) The smiles and giggles sound like the most amazing way to end your day at work!!!!!

Hey, we just got a postcard for Jardin Magico in the mail today -- I hadn't known the name of the place she was at, glad to know it's this one! Sounds like a fantastic place.

Aw what an exciting time! You made me excited to see Collin's cubby of art projects. But believe me, I'm in no hurry. But I'll look forward to it! :)You're such a fun mommy!
