A Weekend with Molly (amy and cory too)

After 11 months of watching Molly grow up on her blog, we finally got to meet her again. She is even more adorable in person. We had a great time having the Lafferty family here.
Note: I realized too late that I posted all these pictures backwards so pictures are chronologically backwards. oops! Also, I have a new found respect for the quality of pictures Amy and Cory have on their website. Getting a baby to look at the camera AND smile is hard! Forget it with 2 babies.

Here we are at the Como zoo this afternoon. Last year when Chris and I were at the Como Zoo Amy was in labor with Molly. While we were in the primate house Chris got a phone call that Pam is in labor! We can't wait to hear when our little nephew makes his entrance into the world...

The next pictures are from Ikea. Amy and Cory do not have one in Kansas. It is a true shopping experience.

Not sure about this chair
Molly has a voracious appetite...okay, all she really ate were the Swedish Pancakes

Yes, that is 2 babies in our house!! We met up with Cory and Amy's friends from college and their little girl Chloe. They then came to our house for a bbq. These girls quickly showed us how un-babyproof our house really is.

Lacey also came over to meet everyone. Molly thought she was fun too

Molly didn't understand playing with grapes. They must be eaten as fast as possible.

Next set of pictures are from Time To Fly. Amy supported my work, Children's Cancer Research Fund, by running the 10K

New hair do & Bump update

I've tried 4 different stylists in Minneapolis and I found one I'm definitly going to stick with. Plus, it is only a few blocks from our house. Yay! So here I am with my new fun style and a almost 29 week bump. My mom says it has surpassed bump and is now a baby mound...thanks mom! At least when my Aunt MaryAnne asked if I was as big as a house, chris said "oh no, you are more shed size...not even close to a house yet" He has got such a way to make me feel better. I'm perfectly happy being shed size :)

Very tempting...

So this afternoon we were at Babies R Us to buy baby gates (my cousin Amy & Cory and their little one are visiting next weekend and we don't want anyone falling down into the basement). While we were there I ran into my doctor. It took me a second to recognize her without a white coat on! Chris and I met her adorable 6 month old girl and then went on shopping. I decided to browse the clothes to see if I found anything for a "going home from the hospital" outfit. This is the one time when I do understand Chris's frustration about not knowing the gender. If you don't know boy or girl you are stuck with rubber ducks and frogs. They are definitly cute, but not as cute as the 99% of the clothes geared to boy or girl. I told Chris "Well, my doctor is in the check out line...we could go ask her the gender" It was extremely tempting...just like all those Christmas presents that I would peek at before my mom got a chance to wrap them. But we decided not to, so ducks and frogs it will be for now!

Not much else going on. The nesting is kicking in. I finally unpacked another box of books. Our bookcase is full and I think there are 3 more boxes downstairs. We are going to have a yard sale in mid July so I want to go through everything in the basement. I want to get it done before movement becomes impossible. I already have hobbit feet and little sausage fingers. What will it be like in 10 weeks? Although, these are great excuses to go float in the pool at the Y a few times a week and sit in the big comfy chair with my feet up when I get home. Also, why can't I sleep through a whole night? Is this to prepare me for the first few months? I'd rather bank a whole bunch now, but I guess nature doesn't work that way.

Don Juan in 3D!

Today I had my 28 week appointment. At my 20 week appointment there was a little bit of fluid in Don Juan's kidneys so they wanted to check it later to make sure it didn't increase. Thankfully it was the same amount so nothing to worry about. It was great seeing him/her again. I didn't even know my doctor's office had the 3D machine. I did an audible "awww" when the doctor turned it on. I think Don Juan has Chris's nose and my lips, but it is a little hard to tell in utero :)

Nursery Part II

Here are pictures from late last night of the characters that I didn't post in the first one. I think it turned out really well. We'll keep pictures updated as we furnish the room.

Sneak peek at the nursery

So when my Aunt Jan offered to paint our Dr. Seuss theme nursery I was so excited. I knew it would be wonderful, but due to my lack of artistic talent I really couldn't even visualize it. She has been here working all weekend. I can't believe how much we got done in one weekend! (Well, I took a lot of breaks and naps). My aunt says she will paint for food and Chris made wonderful meals all weekend. I'm one lucky gal! It is almost 10 pm and she and Chris are still doing finishing touches while I'm putting up my feet. I knew I needed to have a blog up by tomorrow for all of our devoted followers. I'll hopefully post again tomorrow night when it is totally done and we have some furniture moved in.

Before picture of the room.
Cece decided to help with footprints through the living room...Chris introduced her to the hose outside while I wiped up paw prints!

slow lazy weekend

We didn't do much and I was laid back in comfy clothes and a ponytail so no pictures for this week...oh, but for those of you who thought Chris's hair was getting too unruly, he did get a hair cut. Since he seems to be on a 3 month schedule it will probably be nice and curly again for Don Juan's arrival. Yes, that's right...we are almost into the 3rd trimester. Less than 100 days to go and I plan on having as many lazy summer weekends as I can!

Very productive week!

Okay, so I didn't do much, but it was a great week!! Aunt Jo visited from Kansas City and painted our dining room and living room. It looks great! She is a pro and really fast. We even had time to take her around Minneapolis and to visit the cemetary where my great grandparents and great great grandparents are buried. It was a wonderful visit.
Me and Don Juan in front of the bright yellow walls in the dining room.
Here's the living room. Aunt Jo recommended a pale yellow and it looks wonderful.Picture between both rooms
Dining room...still need to get pictures on the wall. I love the way the yellow makes the wood and crown molding pop.

Aunt Jo and Cece....yes, the dog that takes forever to get used to strangers fell in love with Aunt Jo right away...sorry, dad, Cece obviously likes your sister a lot more than she likes you
That darn winter coat...Cece wearing some of her fur
Before Aunt Jo arrived, Chris took down the wallpaper (and a little bit of plaster)
I needed some rest on Saturday. Maybe we should get a hammock.
Saturday night we had a huge hail storm. We were visiting Chris's relatives in St Louis Park where it seems to have been the worst. I've never seen hail so big! We need to replace our side view mirror, but otherwise our car survived the storm.
