It's all about the cake

Today we celebrated Penelope's 1st birthday with a party at our local park. The weather was wonderful and Chris made really scrumptious food. We had about 20 people, except I somehow only ended up with pictures of the kids.

Thanks to her very explicit instructions, I baked it Friday morning and she came over in the evening to frost it--and fix the huge broken part. I learned frosting and a ribbon can hide many flaws!

Back home on a total sugar high. It took 2 good shampoos to get all that frosting out of her bangs!
