A day of pampering and being green

So today was pretty busy but great. I started by getting a hair trim. It is growing so fast! My nails are strong and wonderful now too...does this part really have to go away? Then Chris and I went to this green products store I've wanted to go too. I found the detergent I've been ordering online and a composter on sale. Yea!! Then after some more shopping and a quick nap I headed to a neonatal massage. This was my first professional massage. It was nice, but I think I feel more energized/relaxed after a good yoga class or bike ride around the lake. It did feel wonderful on my lower back but the aches are already returning so I'll be swimming tomorrow.
After the massage I put the composter together. Here we are putting in the first banana peel and leaves: :)

This week I started washing the baby clothes and cloth diapers. I was a little afraid that these bulky cloth diapers would never fit in the teeny newborn clothes so Chris's pooh bear was used as a guinea pig.

Dr. Seuss cover with prefold
Okay, so it probably would not work for Pooh's little torso, but I expect our baby will be a little bit longer
Yay! All dressed up :)
Oh, and I know I've gone on and on about these amazing newfangled one size diapers that are so different then the kinds with pins. I've read that the one size bum genius usually work best starting at 11 lbs and go to toddler so I needed something for the first month and didn't want to spend as much as the Bum Genius for a short time. The type pictured are kind of a blend of old and new...a prefold diaper that slides into a cover. I also have some newborn fitteds which are easy snap fleece cloth diapers.

(And yes, I know in a few weeks I'll look back and think "I had time to dress up a stuffed animal?! What was wrong with me? Why wasn't I sleeping?!")

Sydney's jealous. He never got diapered. This entry was so good. Poor Pooh - a ersatz Don Juan.

You are the only pregnant person I've ever known who would rather go on a bike ride than get a massage! You crazy granola girl, saving the environment one banana peel and cloth diaper at a time :) Don Juan is so lucky to have you!

I know exactly what you mean about your nails! My nails and skin were fabulous during both pregnancies! That was one of the things I loved about being pregnant.
The pooh bear pics are so cute! Way to make Chris practice! I know you feel better knowing that the clothes will fit with the diapers. It's all part of the nesting process.
