Last week Penny brought home her first homework assignment. They are serious in Pre-K! It was actually more of a homework assignment for the parents:
1. What do you know about your family's heritage (i.e. where your ancestors are from)
European mutt pretty much sums it up so we get to pick and choose all kinds of fun traditions. I printed out a European map and had Penny color the countries. Pink for Mommy's countries, blue for Daddy's countries. Chris said I was overachieving.
(sorry if we missed a few...our genealogy family experts can speak up)
2. Does your family have a favorite holiday and how do you celebrate?
Easter with cousin Molly and Charlotte. Since this is the holiday Penny loves to talk about I think she'll share a lot with her class
3. does your family have a favorite traditional food that represent your cultural heritage?
Lasagna (Penny doesn't like it yet)
I will say tonight we spent a half hour going through the junk pile on the counter to find the homework sheet. Good times ahead at the Strand household...we can't even keep track of the pre-kindergarten homework...sigh

Hehehe, love that the holiday was Easter with Molly and Charlotte! It's their favorite to talk about, too.
We are also European mutts in our house.
If you can think of a way to organize and keep track of all that stuff, please pass along the tip. We just have piles and it's kind of driving me crazy already!
