11 years
Today Chris and I are celebrating 11 years since our first date. Yes, we've dated each other that whole time. We met the first day of drama junior year. There's a long complicated story on how we finally ended up sitting on a park bench at Walney Pond on February 26, 1998. I remember telling him how I didn't want a "normal, stupid high school relationship." Not sure exactly what I meant, but I think we accomplished that. Looking back at 11 years we sure have done a lot...high school, college (both long distance and the same school), working together at 3 companies, living abroad, traveling, being crazy dog park people, living 3 years in 400 sq ft, moving across country, buying a house and of course, our new adventures with Miss Penelope.

Ok Laura...I am so dumb...I didn't put 2 and 2 together that you were dating Chris in high school. I knew that I recognized him from somewhere!!! I loved seeing those Prom pics from Buena!! Wow, 11 years is a long time but what a happy family you guys are! Too cute! Do both of your families still live in SV?
Elisa--nope, I met Chris when I moved to VA...you recognize him because you saw those prom pics when I came to visit AZ. You thought he looked so much older than me and you called him "Uncle Chris" every time I visited :)
By the way, I found pictures of us hiking. I should post those some day too.

Morning Laura!! Thanks for posting that comment on my blog back to me...then I saw that you posted back on your blog too!! :) OMG, really I have Alzheimer's...I promise you that I can not remember anything. Now that you said that I called him Uncle Chris I can picture myself saying that!! Nikki has a great memory and always bring up stuff that I don't remember either and then she goes on to tell me that I need to play memory games to help myself, which is probably true. Yes, please do post those pics of us hiking...that would be so funny. I wish we could meet up someday!! Do you guys have any fam left in Az?
I am so glad you did this post... the memories are wonderful and I am so glad you have them written down for Penny for later in life. You guys keep making memories....

Man, what kind of crazy people start dating in high school, do the long distance college thing and end up married with a little girl? Hmmmm ... maybe it runs in the family :)
