A day with Grandma

Okay, it really was a long weekend, but I realized I only took pictures on Saturday so here's a recap of a very busy day with Grandma.
Saturday morning Penelope was ecstatic with the videos and games on Grandma's Iphone. A few more days and we may have needed to do some sort of iphone rehab.
Shopping was on Grandma's to-do list so we went to the Mall of America. Penelope got to pick out her own Bitty Baby at the American Girl Store. We asked her if she wanted a baby with hair or without hair. Penelope said "no hair!" Love a girl who is decisive when shopping.

She got the signature red bag! There was a little bit of me that became complete. When I was in the 5th grade my friend Kristen introduced me to American Girl dolls. Then it was just the 5 or 6 historical dolls. I don't think they had the Bitty Babies yet. I knew there was no way my mom would buy me such an expensive doll, but I'd page through the magazine and dream of owning Samantha or Felicity. I can't blame my mom. We didn't really take care of our toys. Our Barbies hair was cut, dyed, clothes "refashioned," & at one point we used our Barbies as targets with my brother's archery set. Anyways, it was fun to watch Penelope in the American Girl store and she has been in love with her baby since we brought her home.

We did one ride at MOA. Chris stood in line for over a half hour to get on it. That place was a madhouse!
Then in the evening I dragged the crew to volunteer in the Children's Neurology Foundation Gala. Jackie Lee was on the event team. The theme was Mardi Gras. I know, kind of an odd theme for a bunch of kids to be in a parade when you think of the New Orleans parades, but it was cute. We were told to dress the kids in fun outfits. Every single little girl showed up in a tutu.
The four of us before the parade.
Daddy and Penny
Me and Jackie Lee. I found out if you organize the event you don't have to go on stage. I didn't get any other photos of it so I hope someone else did.

Sunday we got 20 inches of snow so it was more of a "practice potty" day than anything else. Than Monday Penelope got a day just with Grandma. They played in the snow (I'll post a video she took on youtube) , did arts and crafts, and lots of puzzles and books.

On Tuesday when I picked Penelope up from day care, she said "Grandma at home?" Isn't that sweet?

Tonight sleeping with Baby. What a great weekend!

We have the same issue with Molly and Cory's iPhone. Although, she does not have a Bitty Baby. Lucky, Penelope! I love the picture of her sleeping with her new baby :)

Aw I can't believe how big she's getting!

Ha and videos on the iPhone...for a short while that was my treat to Collin while I nursed Elle. That is until he had a COMPLETE MELTDOWN everytime I said video time was over. Now I'm going to have to find something new that he thinks is equally as cool.
